Erica Abdallah is a Physician Assistant and Chief Compliance Officer of Apico Pain and Wellness. As a member of the organization since its inception, Erica has played an integral role in the growth and development of the practice, combining her extensive clinical experience with leadership in quality, compliance, and patient care.
Born and raised in New York City, Erica earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Binghamton University (SUNY). She subsequently completed her Physician Assistant training at Catholic Medical Centers and earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Pace University.
Before helping establish Apico, Erica spent approximately 15 years practicing in Emergency Medicine and Reproductive Endocrinology. Her background in these diverse and demanding specialties provided her with extensive experience caring for patients with both acute and complex medical conditions. In 2020, she transitioned her clinical focus to pain medicine and has since become an important part of Apico’s multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
As a clinician, Erica believes that successful pain management begins with understanding the individual patient rather than simply treating a diagnosis. She emphasizes a multimodal and individualized approach, incorporating appropriate medical, interventional, rehabilitative, and lifestyle strategies with the goals of reducing pain, restoring function, promoting independence, and helping patients maintain the best possible quality of life.
In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Erica serves as Chief Compliance Officer, helping oversee Apico Pain and Wellness’s commitment to regulatory compliance, clinical standards, patient safety, and ethical healthcare practices. Her combination of frontline clinical experience and organizational leadership gives her a unique perspective on ensuring that the practice continues to grow while maintaining high standards of care.
Erica is also currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA), further expanding her expertise in healthcare leadership, operations, and organizational management.
Erica resides in Delaware with her husband and two children. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors, and enjoying time with her family and their dogs.
